Healing time varies from client to client. Allow at least 4-6 weeks from initial appointment before scheduling a touch up (if necessary)

Once the tattoo has scabbed and peeled away, it will have settled into the skin and faded ever so slightly.

SARAN WRAP: AFTER 2-4 HOURS: You can remove your wrap by cutting or unraveling and begin to gently cleanse the area 2-3 times daily until fully healed

SECOND SKIN: AFTER 72 HOURS: You can remove your wrap and begin to gently cleanse the area 2-3 times daily until fully healed. To remove your second skin, grip a corner and pull away from yourself instead of peeling back (similar motion to that of removing a command strip). It helps to do this under warm running water to loosen the adhesive.

WASHING YOUR NEW TATTOO

1. With clean hands, work up a lather in your palms with your choice of antibacterial soap. (Avoid taking bars directly to your new tattoo). Wash the area using gentle circular motions. Do not pick or peel active scabs, they will shed with washes. We recommend: Dial, Dove unscented, or our mess-free Foaming Cleanser that comes with a pump and cap for easy storage

2. Rinse with lukewarm water. This can be done in the shower or over a sink.

3. Dab the area dry with a disposable paper towel. Traditional cloth towels trap moisture and can sometimes harvest bacteria when left out for days/after multiple uses. It is best to avoid rubbing them on your tattoo if/when possible.

4. Apply a thin layer of skin/wound safe ointment. Just enough to moisturize the area. This helps promote healing as well as aids with itching. Avoid applying an excessive amount as this may suffocate the skin and delay the healing process. We recommend: Hustle Butter, Base Labs Tattoo Balm or A&D

AVOID:

-Exercise or strenuous physical activity for a week or so. Excess sweating, friction, and contact with communal equipment can potentially lead to infection.

-Submerging your tattoo in water (pools, jacuzzies, tubs, lakes, etc.) Prolonged soaking of a new tattoo can affect overall quality. Communal water may contain contaminants and other bacteria.

-Abrasive scrubs and heavily scented lotions and skin oils. Your skin will be sensitive at this time.

-Direct UV exposure, sunbathing and booth tanning. Once your tattoo is fully healed it is recommended you continue to care for your skin as normal. (Moisturizing daily and using SPF)

-Hair removal (if applicable) shaving/waxing an area that it actively trying to heal will cause irritation

-Picking, rubbing and scratching the area. This can delay healing as well as interfere with how the ink settles once healed.

Initial touch ups are free and must be booked at least 4-6 weeks out from the date the tattoo was received. Reach out via phone or email to get scheduled if you feel you need one as this service is booked through a private shared link. Additional touch ups will be subject to a tray fee.
